I hadn't been here in easily a decade and the last time I was in, we only ate chips and salsa (which were fantastic, BTW). My husband and I decided to look for fun patios with happy hour specials for Friday afternoons after work and this one came up on my search. Patio availability? Check. Reservations available? Check. Good happy hour options? Check. The happy hour menu is somewhat limited (3 cocktail options, 2 wine and beer options, and 3 food items), but the options available were really good. Other appetizers not on happy hour are also very reasonably priced. We tried the nachos, yuca fries and quesabirra for happy hour. The nachos were out of this world. Quesabirria meat was delicious. Yuca fries were perfectly crisp and both sauces were tasty. I also tried the seasonal sangria, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. We also decided to order some arapitas (basically fried goat cheese) after happy hour was over. The guava sauce on these was excellent. Enjoy the outdoor space during the limited time in Minnesota that it can be enjoyed and enjoy some top of the notch food to go aling with it.

Incredible food, service was impeccable, and the casual vibe made Hola Arepa an ideal date night spot. We admittedly went overboard, ordering black bean tostones, pao de queijo, pork belly arepas, shredded beef and sweet plantain arepas, a small trifle for dessert, plus a couple of drinks off the spirit free menu. Well worth the trip from the suburbs!

I am here to update my review! It has been a while since I was last at Hola Arepa, and this was honestly my favorite time so far. I want to start with the amazing staff. Everyone is so nice and friendly that I could ask any of the staff for anything I needed. Food came out quickly, and they accommodated a group sharing apps and desserts. The vibe and feel of Hola Arepa are so fun. They have an indoor space, a covered patio, and an uncovered patio. The music and decorations make it a fun place to be, and I could stay there for hours. You can find plants, lights, and tropical decorations everywhere. Even in the heat, the covered patio was breezy and cool. I ordered the Argentinian Steak and Eggs Arepas, and they were delicious. I never really knew how to eat arepas, as they are filled with food but look like sandwiches. Whether you use a fork and knife or go in with your hands is up to you. The area was so good, crispy on the outside, and the steak and eggs were the perfect brunch meal. I also had their Iced Tea of the Day, which I highly recommend to anyone not drinking, and the mango chai seed pudding is delicious and light. I will definitely be coming here more often, as I am a bike ride away, and they are ample bike parking; just be sure to make a reservation ahead of time, as it can get busy!

I haven't been to Hola Arepa since last summer but I love this spot; the food is always delicious, they have fun drinks, & they've expanded their patio area so it's huge! There are plants & string lights everywhere, covered & uncovered patios, plus the inside seating, so there's something for everyone. The staff have always been very helpful & quick, even when they're pretty busy. Today I had a cold brew & the Black Bean & Queso Fresco arepa. I do wish it had come with an egg, but that's what I get for panic ordering & not reading the menu closely enough lol. The arepa was delicious, though, especially when I used some of the green sauces. The yucca fries were so crispy & tasty, too. Our table also split a mango chia seed pudding at the end; the mango tasted so fresh, the overall dessert wasn't too sweet. In all, I try to bring all of my out of town guests here; it's such a great place!

Stopped by for happy hour and was completely amazed! The quesabirria jibarito has the most succulent, juicy birria between two fried plantain tostones. Omg seriously the best. The arepa was packed with filling and had the most delicious yuca fries. Didn't get drinks but they all looked so tasty. Server was super attentive and loved the patio area for seating.

We arrived right at open to take advantage of the evening. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. The patio was decorated with plants and had a cozy vibe to it. Our waitress was very helpful and gave some good recommendations. My partner and I split the birria toastada off the happy hour menu and then the peruvian sweet potato black bean arepa with Yuca fries. The birria toastada was fantastic! Juicy and delicious without being too greasy. So much flavor in a crispy and tender bite. The arepa was devine! Absolutely recommend the arepa and yuca fries were so good we even considered ordering more. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Yucca fries were so good! I enjoyed the vibes and the food here -- and the service was nothing short of fantastic. Our group dropped by after a work event and we were a little rowdy but the server matched our energy and gave us recommendations to keep the party going. Such a cute little spot!

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't been here but I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Aside from it being just absolutely beautiful inside, i felt like I was transported to some tropical island. The service was so good. With waiters coming in and checking on us multiple times. I ordered the hot honey chicken thighs arepa and omg so delicious. My date had the Cuban and I think he said it was great. I also got some sweet plantains to start. What an explosion of flavor. I also ordered the embarrassment of mangos. It' was super sweet but yummy. I will definitely be back. Mostly because I didn't take too many photos cause I was having too much fun.

Went here for drinks and appetizers with a couple of friends. Our server was very nice but it took us a while to get our check at the end. The salsa we tried were all relatively spicy and the drinks were super fun! You can tell that this restaurant has the same owner as Hai Hai. It's a very fun atmosphere with lots of plants everywhere!

This was THE PLACE to be yesterday with this gorgeous sunny weather. I have officially found my new favorite patio here at Hola Arepa! Not only was the patio space perfect for sitting in the sun, the food was also spectacular. Service was good, drinks were kept full and we were checked on often. The group I came with also brought their dog with too when we found out the patio was pup friendly. Our server even brought over some water for the dog too. We did have to wait about 20 minutes to be seated and the parking situation is a bit tricky here, but all worth it for some fantastic food and drinks. Hola Arepa offers happy hour on Sundays from 4-close so we lucked out with that too! Drinks & Apps are included in the special, who doesn't love a good deal on some great food? What We Ordered: Chips & 3 Salsas (plus an additional to try them all for 50 cents more!) all of the salsas were flavorful and each one different but not too spicy. My favorite was the Hola, mild and sweet. Nachos Divorciados with Beef- lots of yummy layers of flavor, including some of the best candied jalepeños I've ever tried. Pao de Queijo- Brazilian cheesy bread bites with a delicious garlic & herb butter (a big hit with my son!) Kids Arepa with guacamole- so crispy on the outside but fluffy and filled with fresh guacamole, served with two big yuca fries I am honestly already planning our next trip back here over the summer. The vibes are immaculate and the food is superb.
